With 3 1/2 weeks until DC United opens their 2010 Major League Soccer season at the Kansas City Wizards, the franchise announced Tuesday it is dealing with some major injuries, according to The Washington Post.
Defender Marc Burch, who has averaged over 20 starts in league play, will be out four months after fractured the sesamoid bone in his right foot during training camp and has surgery scheduled Thursday.
Meanwhile, midifielder Clyde Simms will miss the next four weeks after undergoing surgery Tuesday to repair a torn meniscus in a knee, also caused during training camp.
