As the Portland Timbers prepare to make the move from the 2010 season of the USSF Division II Pro League to Major League Soccer, the team announced Tuesday Mike Golub will become the franchise's chief operating officer.
The Timbers were named MLS' 18th franchise nearly a year ago -- March 20, 2009 -- and will join MLS for the start of the 2011 season.
Golub has over 25 years experience in sports marketing and management.
