Major League Soccer's DC United cut former US Olympic team and US U-20 midfielder Danny Szetala Tuesday, less than a year after he joined the franchise from Brescia in Italy's Serie B, according to the website SoccerByIves.net.
Szetala tore his the meniscus in his right knee on the second day of preseason training this year and will miss the next six weeks. He had just recovered from surgery and was set to start a rehabilitation schedule.
Szetala, 22, previously played in MLS with the Columbus Crew.
