Robbie Findley, Javier Morales and Fabian Espindola scored goals as the defending Major League Soccer champion Real Salt Lake defeated the Charleston Battery 3-1 in the second of three matchdays Wednesday in the seventh annual Carolina Challenge Cup at Blackbaud Stadium in Charleston, SC.
The event, which the United Soccer Leagues Second Division hosts but has never won in its history, pits three MLS teams -- RSL, Toronto FC and DC United -- against the Battery in a round-robin competition.
Charleston is 0-2 in this year's event.
Rudolph Mayard scored the only Battery goal in the game.
Real Salt Lake will face Toronto FC in the final day of competition this Saturday.
