The Rochester Rhinos of the USSF Division II Pro League announced a unique partnership Thursday with Heritage Christian Services, a nonsectarian human services organization that supports over 1,500 children and adults with developmental disabilities with a variety of assistance and services.
As part of a program sponsored by the State of New York Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities which sponsors paid 18-month internships with local businesses in the hopes of a person gaining full-time employment, HCS has teamed one of their clients, 47-year-old Chris Brown, with the Rhinos to work as an assistant equipment manager.
Among Brown's duties, he washes and folds the team's laundry and cleans and maintains their equipment.
He began his internship Monday.
