Reading United FC, formerly the Reading Rage, 2009 regular season champions in the United Soccer Leagues Premier Development League, announced Wednesday they have signed Matt Hedges and C.J. Sapong to 2010 contracts.
Hedges was the 2009 Horizon League Defensive Player of the Year after scoring five goals and three assists for Butler University last season.
Sapong has scored 25 goals in three seasons for James Madison University in the Colonial Athletic Association, where he was been selected a three-time all-league First Team pick.
In 2007, he was named the association's Rookie of the Year.
He also has been named a National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-South Atlantic First Team member.
