Semir Mesanovic, claimed off waivers last week from the Rockford Rampage, had a hat trick to lead his new Major Indoor Soccer League team, the Philadelphia Kixx, to a 20-13 win over La Raza de Monterrey Sunday at the Liacouras Center at Temple University.
Adauto Neto extended his point-scoring streak to 14 games with a two-point goal and an assist and Ricardinho had a two-point shot and a pair of assists in the victory.
The Kixx are in fourth place in the league standings, four games behind the Milwaukee Wave for the league lead but, if they make it into third place before the end of the regular season, they will make the playoffs.
Philadelphia heads to the Baltimore Blast Friday for an originally scheduled February 12 which was postponed due to a major winter storm in the northeast. They then host the Rampage next Sunday, travel to the Wave March 20, and end the regular season at home March 21 against the Blast.
Monterrey is 9-9 and in third place, 2 1/2 games behind the Wave. Two games remain on their schedule -- at the Wave this Sunday and hosting the Rampage in their home and regular season finale March 21.
