Rockford Rampage forward Leo Gibson was named the Major Indoor Soccer League Player of the Week Monday after scoring seven goals for 15 points in two weekend games, doubling his season totals in both categories to 14 and 30, respectively.
Gibson, acquired by Rockford after being released by the Philadelphia Kixx, got a measure of revenge against his old team Sunday by scoring 11 points on four two-point goals and a three-point goal in a 34-15 win at Liacouras Center at Temple University, the Kixx's worst loss in franchise history.
His totals surpassed his previous single-game career highs of four two-point goals and eight points with the Kixx December 4, 2009.
Gibson began the weekend with a pair of two-point goals in an 11-8 loss to the Baltimore Blast Friday at First Mariner Arena.
