RailHawks To Create Independent U-23 Team

The Carolina RailHawks of the USSF Division 2 Pro League announced plans Friday to create an independent U-23 youth men's team.

The team would play a schedule made up of games against Major League Soccer and United Soccer Leagues teams as well as the US U-17 and U-18 Development Academy teams.

RailHawks assistant coach Dewan Bader will serve as head coach for the team with help from assistants Henry Gutierrez and Rick King.

The trio led the USL Premier Development League's Cary Clarets last season to a 9-4-3 regular season record and a playoff berth, though they lost in the semifinals to the Chicago Fire Premier 2-1.
