The Professional Arena Soccer League announced Thursday at their semi-annual owners meeting in San Diego they have approved three expansion teams for the 2010-11 season.
Two of the teams -- the Tacoma Stars and the Los Angeles Bolts -- meet last weekend in Las Vegas for the amateur Premier Arena Soccer League championship, won by the Stars 2-1.
The Stars played professionally in the Major Indoor Soccer League and other indoor leagues from 1983-1992 and joined the Premier league in the 2003-04 season, winning a Summer Championship title in that season.
The Bolts were in their first season in the Premier league.
The third expansion team, Revolucion Tijuana, spent the last two seasons in the Ligo Mexicana de Futbol Rapido, a league affilaited with PASL-Pro, and played a seven-game series this season between two franchises -- the defending PASL-Pro champion California Cougars and the San Diego Sockers, who made their debut this season.
Tijuana was also named host for the PASL's first All-Star Weekend March 26-27.
PASL-Pro will now be made up of 12 teams in the 2010-11 season, along with their affiliated leagues -- the Canadian Major Indoor Soccer League and LMFR.
It was also announced the championship game of the 2010 US Open Arena Soccer Championship will be held April 10 with the host Louisville Lightning facing the Sockers at Mockingbird Valley Soccer Club in Louisville.
