The New Jersey Rangers of the United Soccer Leagues Premier Development League announced the signings Tuesday of two stars from nearby Farleigh Dickinson University -- Samson Malijani and Dominic Reinold.
Malijani, a native of Lusaka, Zambia, had 18 goals and five assists in 20 games during his senior season with the team. He tied the Northeast Conference this season in goals (18) and points (41) and was seventh in the conference in assists (five). Malijani also was named the conference's tournament Most Valuable Player after scoring eight points in the event.
In 2008, he was second in the nation in goals per game average at 0.90 and tied for first in pointe per game average at 2.05 en route to being named an All-American Third Team selection by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
Reinold, a freshman and native of Wesseling, Germany, was the conference's Rookie of the Year after scoring 12 goals and four assists.
