MISL Names Final Players Of The Month For 2009-10 Season

The Major Indoor Soccer League announced Friday the final Player of the Month awards for the 2009-10 regular season and saw all three selections be repeat winners.

For the second month in a row, Philadelphia Kixx forward Aduato Neto was named Offensive Player of the Month for March 2010 after scoring 19 points in seven games over a 23-day span of the schedule.

He finished the season as the league leader in points (65) and assists (28).

Josh Rife of the Milwaukee Wave, this week's MISL Player of the Week, was named Defensive Player of the Month for the second time in four months, having won the award before in December 2009.

Rife had 14 points on a three-point goal, five two-point goals and an assist and blocked 10 shots as the Wave won the regular season championship with a 4-0 month.

Rife finished tied with Pat Morris of the Philadephia Kixx for the league lead in blocks at 36.

Wave goalkeeper Nick Vorberg, who was Goalkeeper of the Month for January, went 2-0 in the month and stopped 31 of 42 shots. His 2009-10 record is 8-4 with a league-best 9.48 points against average.
