Lucio Gonzaga had seven points on a hat trick that featured a three-point goal as the Baltimore Blast clinched a berth in the Major Indoor Soccer League postseason tournament Friday in an 11-8 victory over the last place Rockford Rampage at First Mariner Arena in Baltimore.
Rod Dyachenko and Pat Healey added two-point goals as the Blast improved to 11-7, a half-game behind the Milwaukee Wave for first place in the league standings.
Newly acquired Leo Gibson led the Rampage with a pair of two-point goals and Geison Moura and Fred Degand added single shots. The Rampage are out of the playoff hunt at 6-12.
The Blast host their regular season home finale Saturday against the Philadelphia Kixx while the Rampage are off until Sunday when they travel to the Kixx.
