Forward Collins John, who has been an trialist since February 4, signed a contract Friday with Major League Soccer's Chicago Fire.
John was a teammate of fellow forward Brian McBride during their days with Fulham in the English Premier League.
John began his career at age 17 with FC Twente in the Dutch Eredivisie, scoring 11 goals in 35 games over an 18-month span before being sold to Fulham in January 2004.
At Fulham, he scored 20 goals in 95 games between the 2004 and 2007 seasons, with his best season in 2004-05, when he led the franchise with 11 goals in 35 of 38 games.
He left Fulham in 2007 and played for teams in England (Leicester City, Watford FC), Holland (NEC Nijmegen) and, most recently, Belgium (R.S.V. Roeselare).
