Major League Soccer's Kansas City Wizards announced Wednesday they have welcomed Senegalese defender Birahim Diop back to the league with a 2010 contract and he will be reunited with current assistant coach Octavio Zambrano.
Zambrano first worked with Diop in MLS with the New York Red Bulls after playing previously in Senegal for US Rail de Thies in that country's Premier League (15 goals in 25 career games), then hooked up again at FC Tilgul-Tiras Tiraspol in Moldova.
Diop also played for ASC Jeanne D'Arc in Dakar and Deportivo Pereira in Colombia.
