Major League Soccer's all-time leading scorer, Jaime Moreno, scored both goals as DC United defeated the defending league champion Real Salt Lake 2-1 Saturday in the opening round of the 2010 Carolina Challenge Cup at Blackbaud Stadium in Charleston, SC.
Robbie Findley scored the lone goal for RSL.
In other play at the round robin event, the host team, the Charleston Battery of the United Soccer Leagues Second Division played to a scoreless draw to MLS' Toronto FC.
The Battery have never won this event in its history.
