Major League Soccer's DC United signed defender Lyle Adams, the 26th overall pick in the league's 2009 SuperDraft, to a developmental contract Wednesday.
The native of Kingston, Jamaica had trials with clubs in Austria, Switzerland and Belgium before joining the Austin Aztex of the United Soccer Leagues First Division.
He played collegiately for four seasons at Wake Forest, scoring 11 goals and six assists and winning a national championship in 2007.
