Argentinian M Robles Joins Earthquakes

Major League Soccer's San Jose Earthquakes announced the signing Monday of Argentinian midfielder Javier Robles, who scored a goal for the team in a recent exhibition victory against the Fresno Fuego of the United Soccer Leagues Premier Development League.

Robles began his career in the youth system of Velez Sarsfield in his country's First Division, which he later joined, playing in both the 2006 Apertura and 2007 Clausura seasons before jumping to Olimpio de Bahia Blanca for the 2008 Clausura.

After that, he played for the Santiago Wanderers in Chile's First Division, then returned to Olimpio, where he scored three goals in 18 games of the 2008-09 season.

He came back to Velez Sarsfield last season, leading them to a fifth place finish in the Apertura.
