Thornton, Alston Out For USMNT, Hartman Recalled

US Men's National Team goalkeeper Zach Thornton of Major League Soccer's Chivas USA suffered a slightly sprained hip flexor in practice Thursday and could miss their next pre-FIFA World Cup game against El Salvador in Tampa, the team said Friday.

USMNT head coach Bob Bradley has now recalled Kansas City Wizards goalkeeper Kevin Hartman to the team, in case Thornton is unable to play.

Also, New England Revolution defender Kevin Alston suffered a left hamstring strain during the current training camp. He had a similar injury last year which affected his play with the USMNT.
