USWNT Announces Latest Training Camp Roster For Germany

US Women's National Team head coach Pia Sundhage Tuesday announced the names of 26 players invited to participate in a training camp September 21-October 2 at The Home Depot Center in Carson, CA ahead of an October 29 friendly against Germany.

It is the first training camp the world's top-ranked women's team has held since the recent end of the first season of Women's Professional Soccer, where all but three members of the roster have been playing.

The USWNT will train and play without two longtime stalwarts of the team.

Midfielder Lindsay Tarpley is out eight to ten weeks after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament while training with the WPS' Chicago Red Stars, and defender Christie Rampone, who recently was named player/head coach of the league champion Sky Blue FC, is three months pregnant with her second child due in March 2010.
