USMNT Forward Dempsey Staying At Fulham

US Men's National Team forward Clint Dempsey Thursday signed a new contract with Fulham of the English Premier League through the end of the 2012-13 season.

He originally joined the team from Major League Soccer's New England Revolution in January 2007, then signed a two-year contract in May 2008 that would have expired at the end of the upcoming season, which would allow him to leave for another team without having being subject to a transfer fee.

Dempsey has scored 14 goals in 81 career EPL games and was the team's co-leading scorer last season with seven goals as he led Fulham to a seventh-place finish, the best in team history.

Dempsey started 28 of 38 games last season and was a substitute in seven other games.
