USL2 Playoff Participants Set; Matchups Not Set Yet

With the Real Maryland Monarchs defeating the Bermuda Hogges, 4-3, Saturday, the top five teams are now set to advance to the United Soccer Leagues Second Division playoffs, which begin next Wednesday.

Now, all that has to happens is to determine in which order the teams finish the regular season.

As of Tuesday, the Richmond Kickers have the top spot in the league standings at 11-3-5 with 38 points and host the Wilmington Hammerheads this Saturday, the final day of the regular season.

Wilmington (11-5-2, 36) is second, but has games both this Friday (hosting Real Maryland) and Saturday (at Richmond).

The Harrisburg City Islanders are third (9-6-4, 31) and can't do any better that that, even if they win at the Western Mass Pioneers Wednesday.

The Charlotte Eagles are fourth (7-5-7, 28) with the Monarchs close behind in fifth (8-9-2, 26). Charlotte host the Pioneers Saturday and Real Maryland is at Wilmington Wednesday.
