The US Coast Guard was officially named Tuesday the presenting sponsor of the inaugural Women's Professional Soccer All-Star Game August 30 at the Anheuser-Busch Soccer Park in Fenton, MO.
The game, now called the 2009 Women's Professional Soccer All-Star Game Presented By The Coast Guard, will pit the WPS All-Stars against Swedish team Umea IK.
The armed services' logo will now appear on all game jerseys as part of an agreement signed Tuesday and the Coast Guard becomes the fifth national league partner and the second partner, after MedImmune (championship game), to sponsor a league postseason event.
