Major League Soccer's Toronto FC announced the signing of Haiti-born defender Lesly Fellinga to a contract Wednesday.
Born in Port-au-Prince, Fellinga was adopted by a couple in the Netherlands as a baby. He began his soccer career with the youth squad for Dutch team FC Gronigen and played on Netherlands' U-15, U-17 and U-19 teams.
Professionally, he played in the Dutch Eredivisie for SC Heerenveen and in Eerste Divisie for BV Veendam.
In March 2007, he debuted for Haiti's national team and was on the roster for their play at the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup, but he never made it on the field.
