Ricardo Sanchez fed a pass to Melvin Tarley in the 68th minute for the lone scoring opportunity as the Minnesota Thunder shut out the host Miami FC Blues, 1-0, Saturday in United Soccer Leagues First Division play at Florida International University.
The Thunder are 4-10-6 with 18 points and in sole possession of ninth place in the 11-team league. They will travel Sunday to the Austin Aztex and next Wednesday against the last-place Cleveland City Stars.
Miami is at 7-10-4 with 25 points and tied for seventh place with the defending league champion Vancouver Whitecaps and will attempt to snap the now 22-game unbeaten streak of the Portland Timbers at PGE Park next Saturday.
