The Seattle Sounders were instrumental in seeing Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder David Beckham get ejected in the 17th minute of their 2-0 victory Saturday at The Home Depot Center after Beckham tackled Seattle's Peter Vagenas spikes up.
Fredy Montero scored Seattle's other goal with help from Vagenas and Nate Jaqua in the 54th minute as the Sounders jumped to second place in the Western Conference standings at 8-6-8 with 32 points, seven points behind the conference-leading Houston Dynamo (11-6-6, 39), who they face on the road next Sunday. Houston played to a scoreless draw at Real Salt Lake Saturday.
