Shipalane Loaned To DC United From USL2's City Islanders

Major League Soccer's DC United announced the acquisition of midfielder Tiyiselani "Tiyi" Shipalane on loan from the Harrisburg City Islanders of the United Soccer Leagues Second Division for the remainder of the 2009 season.

Shipalane will serve as a roster replacement for Thabiso "Boyzzz" Khumalo.

Shipalane had six goals and six assists in his first season with the City Islanders after joining them from the Michigan Bucks of the USL Premier Development League, where he had 11 goals and nine assists in 46 games over three seasons, including a game-winning goal that gave the Bucks their 1996 PDL National Championship title.
