Red Bulls' Angel Leads Them To End Of Winless Streak

Juan Pablo Angel scored in the fourth minute off an Albert Celades pass then had an unassisted game-winner in the 88th minute as the New York Red Bulls snapped a Major League Soccer-record 13-game losing streak and 15-game winless streak with a 3-2 win over FC Dallas Sunday at Giants Stadium.

The win, the team's first since a 4-1 defeat of the San Jose Earthquakes May 8, also at Giants Stadium, was the second first win for interim head coach Richie Williams, who was named to the position after Juan Carlos Osorio abruptly resigned last week. It is the second time Williams is serving as an interim coach for New York, having previously done so when Mo Johnston resigned.

Celades also teamed with John Wolyniec in the 27th minute on a Dane Richards goal for New York, who are still in last place in the Eastern Conference at 3-16-4 with 13 points and have the worst record in the league this season after winning the Western Conference Championship last season.

Dax McCarty led Dallas with a goal off a Jeff Cunnigham assist in the 18th minute and an assist on Dave van den Berghs 72nd minute play. DC Dallas is 6-11-5 with 23 points and in seventh place in the Western Conference standings. They are now off until September 5 when they host DC United.
