RailHawks Take "Low" Road To Taking Over USL1 Lead

Kupono Low scored the game's only goal in the final minute of regulation play off an Andriy Budnyy assist as the Carolina RailHawks took over sole possession of first place in the United Soccer Leagues First Division with a 1-0 victory over the host Rochester Rhinos Wednesday at Marina Auto Stadium.

Carolina is now 12-5-3 with 39 points and leads the Charleston Battery by one point (10-3-8, 38), the Portland Timbers by three (9-1-9, 36) and the defending league regular season champion Puerto Rico Islanders by four (9-5-8, 35). The RailHawks host the Cleveland City Stars Saturday at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, NC.

Rochester is 8-7-5 with 29 points and is in fifth place in the league standings with about six weeks left in the regular season. The Rhinos will host the Austin Aztex Saturday.

The top seven teams in the league standings qualify for the playoffs with the regular season champion earning a first round bye.
