Gregory Richardson and Daniel Paladini had unassisted goals in the 82nd and 90th minutes, respectively, in a 2-0 victory by the host Carolina RailHawks over the last-place Cleveland City Stars in United Soccer Leagues First Division play Saturday from WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, NC.
With the win, Carolina (13-5-3, 42) is now tied for the league lead with the Portland Timbers (11-1-9, 42), a 3-1 winner over the visiting Charleston Battery in USL1 action Saturday from PGE Park.
Cleveland is 2-13-7 with 13 points.
Both teams have the defending league champion Vancouver Whitecaps as their next opponent -- Carolina at Vancouver's Swangard Stadium next Saturday, Cleveland hosting them August 18 at Middleboro Cheese Stadium in Bedford, OH.
