Mandjou Keita had a goal and two assists, and Alex Nimo had a goal and an assist as the Portland Timbers extended their record United Soccer Leagues First Division unbeaten streak to 20 games in a 3-1 defeat of the Charleston Battery Saturday at PGE Park in Portland, OR.
The Timbers, 11-1-9 with 42 points, are now tied for the league lead with the Carolina RailHawks (13-5-3). Portland is on the road for their next two games -- Wednesday at the Montreal Impact and next Saturday at the Rochester Rhinos.
Charleston is 11-4-8 with 41 points and in third place in the standings. The Battery host the last-place Cleveland City Stars this Tuesday at Blackbaud Stadium.
