MLS Offers Tag Team Nomination For Save Of The Week

After Major League Soccer took the unusual step (which fans who voted approved) of nominating a non-goalkeeper in Toronto FC defender Amado Guevara as a candidate for Save of the Week last week, MLS announced a tag team nomination Tuesday on this week's ballot for the Week 23 award.

Houston Dynamo goalkeeper Pat Onstad, a two-time SOW winner in Weeks 12 and 17 of the season, is joined with defender Wade Barrett for stopping a Freddie Ljungberg shot in Sunday's game against the Seattle Sounders at Robertson Stadium.

Also on the ballot are former SOW winners Stefan Frei of Toronto FC (Week 15), Kevin Hartman of the Kansas City Wizards (Week 11) and Nick Rimando of Real Salt Lake (Week 19), as well as Joe Cannon of the San Jose Earthquakes and Jordan Harvey of the Colorado Rapids.

As always, fans can check out videos of each nominee's saves and vote for their favorite through 2 p.m. Eastern time Wednesday at www.mlsnet.com.
