Defender Chad Marshall of the defending league champion Columbus Crew became the first player at his position to win Major League Soccer's Player of the Week award this season Monday.
Marshall takes the Week 22 honor for scoring the game-winning goal in the 10th minute of their 2-0 win over FC Dallas, leading the defensive unit to the team's third straight shutout, and extending their league-record home game unbeaten streak to 20 games.
The goal was Marshall's fourth of the season, his third header goal from a set piece this season and the team's third straight header goal on the schedule.
