DC United Friday acquired defender Julius Jones in a trade with the Houston Dynamo in return for a third round pick in the 2012 Major League Soccer SuperDraft.
Jones will serve as a replacement for forward Ange N'Silu, who is currently on the injured reserve list.
Jones started five of eight games for the Dynamo this season, playing a total of 508 minutes.
In related news, United also signed defender David Habarugira, a native of Burundi who was a trialist for the franchise last summer.
He has played six games for his country's national team and also has played in Belgium's second division.
Habarugira is eligible to play for United Saturday at Toronto FC.
