Hufstader Leads Hammerheads Over Toothless Riverhounds

Phil Hufstader had a goal in the fifth minute off a Kenny Bundy assist, then allowed Zeke Dombrowski to score the insurance goal in the 37th minute as the Wilmington Hammerheads shut down the host Pittsburgh Riverhounds, 2-0, Saturday in United Soccer Leagues Second Division play at Chartiers Valley High School in Pittsburgh, PA.

The Hammerheads (11-4-2, 35) are tied for the lead in the USL2 standings with the Richmond Kickers (10-3-5), who shut out the Real Maryland Monarchs in Richmond earlier in the day, 1-0, setting up a showdown for sole possession of the league standings next Saturday at Legion Sports Complex in Wilmington, NC.

Pittsburgh is 5-9-4 with 19 points and in tenth place. They will host the Charlotte Eagles next Saturday.
