Goldthwaite Out 2-3 Weeks Following Sports Hernia Surgery

New York Red Bulls defender Kevin Goldthwaite will be out the next two to three weeks for the Major League Soccer franchise after undergoing successful surgery in Munich, Germany to repair a sports hernia.

He has played in 17 games for New York this season since being acquired in the 2007 midseason from Toronto FC.

In 2008, he was named the Red Bulls' Defender of the Year after having two goals and two assists in a career-high 28 games.
