Major League Soccer announced the nominees for the Week 21 Goal of the Week competition Monday and all five players on the ballot have a common theme this week -- their respective teams won games by 2-0 scores this weekend.
Also, four of the five goals scored were game-winning goals for their teams.
Fans can view the nominees and videos of their goals, as well as vote for their favorite, by going to www.mlsnet.com before 2 p.m. Eastern time Wednesday.
They are:
Dwayne DeRosario, Toronto FC
Scored game-winning goal in 30th minute off Sam Cronin in 2-0 win over DC United
Maykel Galindo, Chivas USA
Scored game-winning goal in 14th minute off Chukwudi Chijindu and Bojan Stepanovic in 2-0 win over New York Red Bulls
Eddie Gaven, Columbus Crew
Scored unassisted goal in 87th minute of 2-0 win over FC Dallas
Steve Zakauni, Seattle Sounders
Scored game-winning goal in 22nd minute off Brad Evans in 2-0 win over Los Angeles Galaxy
Chris Rolfe, Chicago Fire
Scored game-winning goal in 13th minute off Marco Pappa in 2-0 win over Kansas City Wizards
