Major League Soccer's Chicago Fire announced the transfer Wednesday of defender Bakary Soumare to Boulogne of France's first division, pending a physical.
Soumare, the second overall pick in the 2007 MLS SuperDraft, started 55 of 62 games with the Fire and was named the team's Defender of the Year in 2008, as well as being named to the MLS Best XI.
