Stuart Holden's 83rd minute penalty kick gave the Houston Dynamo a 3-2 win Sunday at Robertson Stadium against the Chicago Fire and they reclaimed the best record in Major League Soccer in the process.
Kei Kamera ended Chicago's streak of 394 minutes without giving up a goal in the 21st minute off a Geoff Cameron assist and Ricardo Clarke followed up in the 37th minute as Brian Ching fed a pass to him for a 2-0 lead.
Chicago leveled the score at 2-2 in the first three minutes of the second half on an unassisted goal by Chris Rolfe and Cuauhtemoc Blanco's pass to Peter Lowry.
The Dynamo lead the Western Conference with an 11-6-5 record and 38 points and will face Real Salt Lake Saturday at Rio Tinto Stadium.
The Fire snapped a five-game winning streak and are 8-4-8 with 32 points, second in the Eastern Conference standings and four points behind the defending league champion Columbus Crew for the conference lead. Chicago travels to CommunityAmerica Ballpark next Sunday to face the Kansas City Wizards.
