Brian Ching had a pair of goals and an assist and Stuart Holden posted a goal and an assist as the host Houston Dynamo took over the best record in Major League Soccer and maintained their lead in the Western Conference standings with a 4-3 victory over DC United Saturday at Robertson Stadium at the University of Houston.
The Dynamo, 10-5-5 with 35 points, travels to FC Dallas for an intrastate showdown Thursday, then hosts the Chicago Fire August 16.
Luciano Emilio came off the bench to score two of United's goals with Fred picking up the other. United is 6-4-10 with 28 points and is in third place in the Eastern Conference standings. DC lost for the second time in their last five and have lost five of their six games.
United has this coming weekend off, but resume play August 15 at Toronto FC.
