Los Angeles Galaxy forward Landon Donovan's status for Saturday's Major League Soccer game at The Home Depot Center against the Seattle Sounders could be in jeopardy after Donovan was a victim of the H1N1 virus, also known as swine flu.
He is now longer contagious, but team officials say they will run tests Saturday to make sure he is fit to play.
He and several other Galaxy players possibly contracted the disease last weekend when they were on the road against the New England Revolution.
Donovan told the Los Angeles Times Friday he started coughing last Monday and felt tired after playing in Wednesday's US Men's National Team World Cup Qualifying match in Mexico City against Mexico. Upon returning home Thursday, he said he suffered chills, a fever, and congestion.
