Cunningham Strikes Again For FC Dallas In Victory

Nearly a week past becoming the ninth player in Major League Soccer history to score four goals in a single game, FC Dallas' Jeff Cunningham, named MLS Player of the Week Wednesday, had the lone unassisted goal in the 20th minute as they shut out the Houston Dynamo, 1-0, at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, TX Thursday.

After scoring only one goal in his first 15 games of the season, he has now scored eight goals in the last five games and Dallas has won two straight games for the first time this season.

Dallas is 6-9-5 with 25 points and tied with Real Salt Lake (6-8-5) for sixth place in the Western Conference standings. They will face the defending league champion Columbus Crew next Saturday at Crew Stadium.

Houston still holds a firm lead in the conference race at 10-6-5 and 35 points, six points better than the Seattle Sounders (7-4-8, 29) and seven better than the Los Angeles Galaxy (6-3-10, 28). The Dynamo host the Chicago Fire this Sunday at Robertson Stadium.
