Major League Soccer's Chivas USA officially received Thursday the P-1 work visa and International Transfer Certificate on defender Yamith Cuesta, loaned to the team August 14 from Colombia's Expreso Rojo and will be eligible to play Saturday in the last Honda SuperClasico game of the season with the Los Angeles Galaxy at The Home Depot Center.
The team also waived defender Lawson Vaughn, who has not played at all this season after appearing in only seven games last season due to injuries. He started 40 of 48 career games with the team since 2006 and had one goal and three assists.
Midfielder Sasha Victorine was placed Thursday on the Disabled List due to a concussion he sustained in a recent practice. He has not practiced in the last two weeks and last played in an MLS game August 8 at the Colorado Rapids.
Victorine can be taken off the DL October 3 when Chivas travels to DC United.
Finally, defender Jim Curtin will be out for four months after undergoing successful arthroscopic surgery on his left ankle Wednesday. He was placed on the Disabled List August 14.
