For the third time this season and fourth in his career, Colorado Rapids forward Conor Casey was named Major League Soccer's Player of the Week for Week 21 of the 2009 season Monday after scoring his second hat trick of the season and third in his career in a 4-0 win over Chivas USA Saturday at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, CO.
Casey previously won the weekly award in Weeks 3 and 11.
He had missed the last two games for Colorado due to a combination of injuries and suspension due to having accumulated too many yellow cards.
Casey now leads the Budweiser Golden Boot competition with 11.
The Rapids are 8-6-6 this season with 30 points and are solidly in third place in the Western Conference standings.
