Pablo Mastroeni and Conor Casey teamed to lead Major League Soccer's Colorado Rapids to a 4-0 victory over Chivas USA in a Western Conference matchup Saturday at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, CO.
Mastroeni, the team's captain, scored his first MLS goal since April 23, 2005 26 seconds into the game, making it the sixth fastest goal ever scored in a league game and the second fastest in team history.
Casey fired off goals in the fourth, 23rd and 45th minutes for his hat trick and Omar Cummings assisted on three of Colorado's goals.
The Rapids won at home against Chivas for the first time since 2005 and Chivas has now lost five straight games and had been idle since June 19 before Saturday's game.
Colorado, in third place in the standings at 8-6-6 with 30, will be off this weekend before traveling to the Chicago Fire August 23 at Toyota Park.
Chivas is 8-7-3 with 27 points and are in fifth place in the conference table. They will take on the worst team in MLS, the New York Red Bulls, next Saturday at Giants Stadium.
