Biello Hits Tie-Breaker As Impact Dim City Stars' Light

Leonardo Di Lorenzo assisted team captain Mauro Biello in the 75th minute to snap a draw and give the visiting Montreal Impact a 2-1 victory over the last place Cleveland City Stars Tuesday in United Soccer Leagues First Division play at Middlefield Cheese Stadium in Bedford, OH.

After a scoreless first half, Peter Byers had a goal in the 59th minute off Tony Donatelli to give Montreal the lead, but the lead lasted 10 minutes before Ryan Stewart connected with Jason Hotchkin on the leveler for Cleveland.

Montreal remains in the hunt for a possible USL1 playoff spot at 8-10-5 with 29 points and in sixth place while the City Stars, at 2-15-7 with 23 points, are destined not to qualify for the playoffs in their first season since choosing to leave USL Second Division, where they were the defending champion.

The City Stars host the Minnesota Thunder this Saturday while the Impact face off against the Austin Aztex at Saputo Stadium.
