Mike Banner had an unassisted goal with five minutes left to play and assisted on Dasan Robinson's game-winning goal in the 93rd minute as the host Chicago Fire edged the Colorado Rapids, 3-2, Sunday in Major League Soccer play at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, IL.
Cuautemoc Blanco scored Chicago's first goal in the 72nd minute on a penalty kick.
Omar Cummings had both of Colorado's goals -- a solo shot in the 48th minute and another goal 10 minutes later with help from Jamie Smith.
The Fire are now 10-5-8 with 38 points, good for second place in the Eastern Conference standings, one point behind the defending conference and league champion Columbus Crew (10-3-9, 39). Chicago will host DC United Saturday.
Colorado is fifth in the Western Conference standings at 8-7-6 with 30 points and host the Western Conference-leading Houston Dynamo next Sunday.
