Woods Leads Lionesses Over Lightning

Lisa-Marie Woods, the team's leading scorer, had a goal off a Nikki Lyons assist in the 11th minute and assisted on Laura Del Rio's 40th minute shot into the net as the host FC Indiana Lionesses shut out the Minnesota Lightning, 4-0, in United Soccer Leagues W-League play Friday at Kuntz Stadium in Indianapolis.

Paige Carmichael added an unassisted goal and Jackie Thomas helped Sacha Andrews tally a goal for the Lionesses, 4-0-2 with 14 points and in second place in the Central Conference, Midwest Division, five points behind the Chicago Red Eleven.

The Lightning are 2-2-1 with seven points and are in sole possession of third place in the division.

FC Indiana travels to the Fort Wayne Fever Tuesday and the Lightning host the Cleveland Internationals next Saturday,
