Warner's Goal Leads Timbers U23s Over Whitecaps Residency

Logan Emory assisted Collen Warner on an 88th minute goal as the host Portland Timbers U23s shut out the Vancouver Whitecaps Residency, 1-0, at PGE Park in a United Soccer Leagues Premier Development League game Sunday.

The Timbers U23s are 8-3-1 with 25 points and are in second place in the Western Conference, Northwest Division, four points behind the Kitsap Pumas (9-0-2, 29), who Portland meets on the road Saturday.

Vancouver is 2-6-2 with eight points and in ninth place. They will visit the Abbotsford Mariners Wednesday before returning home to host the Yakima Reds Saturday and the Cascade Surge Sunday.
