Ward Balances Out Scoring As Fever, Outrage Tie

Claire Ward's unassisted goal in the 84th minute forced the Fort Wayne Fever to accept a 3-3 draw to the Kalamazoo Outrage in United Soccer Leagues W-League play Saturday at Loy Norrix High School in Kalamazoo, MI.

Fort Wayne took a 2-0 lead on goals by Sarah Killion (20') and Paige Goeglein (53') before Kalamazoo got on the board as Megan Brown (64') and Devin Bond (80') scored to level the contest.

The Outrage's Brianna Ray gave them their only lead in the 83rd minute, but Ward's game-tieing shot ended the opportunity to gain three points in the league standings.

Kalamazoo is 2-2-1 with seven points and is in fourth place in the Central Conference, Midwest Division. They travel to the Chicago Red Eleven July 4 then face the FC Indiana Lionesses on the road July 8.

Fort Wayne is winless at 0-3-2 with two points and in sixth place. They will visit the Cleveland Internationals Wednesday.
